Here shall be up to date info regarding our first event.
Right.
Time for more confusion.
Thanks to this event actually taking some dosh, my paypal limit is nearly reached.
Therefore, could any further payments be made to turboturtle555@yahoo.co.uk - you can also MSN me using this email.
Sorry people, just more mof my brilliant foreward thinking.
What a pillock.
This is a drift/ drag/ time attack practice day, held at Brawdy Airfield, in westest Wales.
It is strictly non-competitive, and no prizes will be awarded for FTD etc.
It's an opportunity for you to come down and see what your car is capable of, in relative safety away from the public highway and our ever helpful and friendly constabulary - while at the same time meeting like minded people in a relaxed and casual atmosphere.
The timing for the drags and time attack is kindly being organised by 16s17s18s japanese car imports (see their site www.16s17s18s.com - and also their next event, the Bont stages open weekend here - www.kinzuru-uk.com ).
The timing for the time attack is also planned to be electronic, however if Gavin and co. at kinzuru-uk can't get two sets of timing gear, then it'll be by the stopwatch.
Camping on the saturday night is on-site, and free if you're down for the whole weekend.
We have 2 burger vans in attendance.
We have D-sign graphics ( www.d-signstudio.com ) coming down with the mobile vinyl cutting machine, ready to do custom graphics while-u-wait.
We have a proffesional DJ coming down for the Saturday night. his name is Mikeylove, resident Dj for Port Talbot's premier Night Club and he plays funkyhouse, electro, rnb and garage if needs be (don't know what that means, but you lot probably do...).
Tyre changing facilities will be avaliable, althought whether this will be some levers and people who can use them or a proper tyre van has not been confirmed. The problem being that a tyre van will want paying just to be in attendance.
Part worn and new tyres are avaliable, limited to what people request prior to the event. if you don't request them, they wont be there.
Photography is being ably looked after by our friend Richard Francis (Racingdick) ( www.celticcrochet.co.uk/Richard/
Home.htm) .... he's worked with the best, so we know we're in good hands. He'll be able to burn CDs/DVDs of the days action on-site, for a very reasonable £4-ish per disk, to cover his fuel and disks.
The plan at the moment is for 3 drift tracks, a figure 8, a small oval, the quarter mile and a time attack.
We've got bookings for a couple of club stands, most notably Kara at www.wildwestcrew.com is putting one together (thanks Kara), www.pm-cc.co.uk are hoping to have a stand as are TeamOSAKA ( www.teamosaka.com ).
The cost is: Drivers pay £50 for the weekend, or £25 for a single day. Unregistered spectators are £10 for the weekend or £5 for a single day.
Payments can either be by paypal or cheque, and the cut off date for paypal payments is the 27th July, and the 20th for cheques.
Spectators may pay on the day, but drivers MUST be paid in advance.
If you need to send a cheque/cash/small pygmy virgin, PM me and I'll send you my address.
Entry will be via a green list system. You're name will be down on the list, and to confirm your identity when you arrive, everyone who has paid will be PM'd a secret word/ phrase/ number, to be uttered on the gate.
Please bear in mind this can only go ahead if enough people pre-pay. If enough people do not, then the event will have to be cancelled, and everyone who has made any payments will be fully reimbursed - and everyone who has worked hard on it will go into a bout of depression
Roll up, roll up!
Lets make this the biggest and baddest petrolhead weekend Wales has ever seen!
Mucho thanks go out to my Driftninjas, Huw, Steerfromtherear, MJG, Kara and bally... without your advice help and support, we'd probably be struggling!
And thanks to the (slightly strange) world of the Jap-fanatic, Gav at 16s17s18s - for the idea of opening the event to non-drifters, timing system and the promise off all the cones we can eat!
