My mission for a sub £200 DriftShed has been completed. I now the proud owner of a 1988 Nissan Silvia S12, bought from flea-bay for £122..... Thinkin of going matt black with a load of stickerers, or just matt blacking the bonnet, roof and bootlid. Then Tramp-spec the interior, and off we go (all the while hoping it don't go boom waiting for it's rebuild...)! Obviously, after a service, check over and air in the tyres. Oh, and do micra/sunny-ish wheels fit? :edit: Oh... and the No. Plate reads SXI...... _________________

Picked up the Driftshed, well chuffed! Best thing in the world, I suggest everyone in the world should get an A-frame. The bollocks! Airing up the tyres a bit more.... Cavalier TD + indicated 1.4bar of boost + towing a Driftshed = I really thought that was gonna go boom! Now the diet can commence, then it's exhaust repair, boost hose repair, wheels off for gloss blackage and thinking about prep for paint. Proper happy bunny.

Had a busy couple of hours on the Driftshed today. First things first, Slammage. Suspension off.... Choppy choppy sparkage... I hated the wooden spoon gear lever. So I attacked it with the grinder. ZzzzZZZzzzzzap! Voila! Short-shift. I found a sleepy eye mod that I liked on a random forum somewhere (if anyone wants the link, let me know and I'll post it), and had a go. 5 mins later, no-cost sleepy eyes. I reckon she's looking the bollocks now. Got the air-con out, nearly, just the pump to go now. Then the exhaust (got quoted £85 for the front pipe! I nearly shit myself!). Might have to bodge that somehow. Then the migspec, intercooler, airfilter and bodywork. Oh, and the tyres on the alloys I bought keep going flat. All of them. Oh, 'aint it grand? Good job it's looking so good, aint it?

Nuther piccy update, as promised. Spent some time under the car with the mig - well, Dude did anyway... And a word to the wise. If you empty diff oil from the diif, and plan to weld it up, move the fucking oil. We had a major moment when the container (read: wifes washing up bowl) full of oil, and still under the car, got a visit from a hot bit. Result? Major fire, majorly soiled underpants and a knackered washing up bowl. The pics fucked cos i dropped the camera running to get the fire fighting equipment (read: tea-towel dipped in water). Won't make that mistake again. We decided to fit the comedy can, but since we went fully equipped (read: with the mig, gas and nuthin else) we had to bodge it proper style. Step by step guide to fitting a mega backbox laurel and hardy style? 1. Borrow friends hammer. 2. Beat off original backbox with great malice. 3. Find you have no way to cut metal. 4. Blag a fiver off your Mrs. and go buy a hacksaw. 5. Chop bits off old exhaust to patch up blowing front pipe. 6. Take hacksaw to brand new 5" backbox (still with £79.99 price sticker on it) and watch mate who just sold it to you for £20 cry. 7. Tack weld another bit of the old exhaust (2") to the inlet of the new backbox (3"). 8. Beat the shit out of the new bacbox inlet till the holes are gone, welding as you go. 9. Find that you still have no way to join the new backbox to the rest of the exhaust. 10. Scratch head. 11. Say 'Fuck it' and weld it straight on. 12. Find that now it's welded on for better or for worse, that you have nowhere to hang it under the car. 13. Scratch head again. 14. Say 'Fuck it' and use cable ties for a temporary solution. 15. Start car, rev the knob outta it to see what it sounds like. 16. Once it's warm, perform burnout to confirm the welds in the diff hold. 17. Remember that the diff has no oil in it and stop. Heres the photos of the finished exhaust... Photos of a burn out next time I update, 'cos no-one had the camera on them when it was going on

RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! The stickerman has cometh, and splatterd my ride. From this - fresh from me fucking the paint up 'cos I was in a rush, so it's reacted everywhere.... After an hour of fucking about and applying some stickers in the breaks, we get this.... With this on the bonnet..... And I is well chuffed. Knew it wuld be an interesting experience, when I got to the workshop and was greeted with this... Jono the stickerman parked up in typical Jono style... with a front wheel stuck on top of the biggest lump he can find. Rad next... and ready to go!

Damn shame about the clutch. If mine had been a bit more reliable (and I'd had more petrol) you could have had a few blats in mine.
Car's looking badass though, proper tramp.
Next time...
